Business Pulls Efforts to Promote Bulgaria's Congress Tourism

Representatives of the Bulgarian business along with Transport Minister Nikolay Vassilev sought ways of promoting Bulgaria abroad as an attractive destination for congress events and different international meetings.
The working meeting called "Transport and Tourism - Vigorous Partnership" was organized by the Bulgarian Convention and Visitors Bureau /BCVB/ and gathered representatives of tourism and aviation sector and state and municipal delegates.
Transport Minister Nikolay Vassilev focused on data showing the increased number of tourists visiting Bulgaria over the last years. Tourism is a major priority for the Bulgarian economy and the recent growth in sea and ski tourism puts the country among the preferred European destinations.
Congress tourism is also a leader among the alternative products of the Bulgarian tourism portfolio, the participants agreed.
BCVB Chairman Friedrich Niemann pointed out that due to BCVB's efforts several international congresses have taken place in Bulgaria over the last months.
Biser Yalamov, the Tourism Agency executive director, Sofia Airport Executive Director Kalin Barzov and Kamen Kichev, Regional Manager of the Austrian Airlines for Bulgaria, Macedonia and Kosovo, presented the views on the aspects of the establishment of a successful strategy for the promotion of the Bulgarian tourism product.
Bozhidar Bozhinov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Trade, Industry Chamber and Mr Niemann signed a cooperation agreement. |
