Germany's RTL Considers Buying Bulgaria's bTV for EUR 1,1 B

The Colon-based German TV RTL and its owner Bertelsmann AG are considering buying Bulgaria's largest and most successful TV station bTV from Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation.
The news was announced Tuesday by the German website finanznachrichten.de, which also states that bTV's present owner Rupert Murdoch was asking for EUR 1,1 B for his Bulgarian TV station.
According to the official information, News Corporation will sell bTV by the end of 2008. This will be the third large deal on the Bulgarian TV market in 2008 as the US Central European Media Enterprises bought the cable TV2 and Ring for EUR 110 M, and the Swedish MTG Group bought Nova TV for EUR 620 M.
