"Nabucco" Manager: Project to be Completed by 2014
|
The "Nabucco" gas line would be fully built by 2014, the project manager of "Nabucco" Reinhard Michek announced in an interview for the Darik radio Monday.
Michek explained that the maximum capacity of the pipe would be 31 M cubic meters, a volume that is 8 to 9 times larger than Bulgaria's current needs. During the first year, the gas pipe would deliver between 8 and 10 M cubic meters, which could be increased based on the market needs.
According to "Nabucco" manager, there were no significant obstacles for the construction of the gas line.
Michek further stated that prices would be competitive compared to the current price of Russian gas delivered via the Ukraine, but added that those prices were yet to be determined upon conclusion of negotiations with potential suppliers from Central Asia and the Middle East.
The Bulgarian Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev traveled to Budapest on Monday to meet his Czech counterpart Mirek Topolanek in connection with the "Nabucco" gas line project. While in Budapest, Stanishev is also meeting with the Prime Ministers of Hungary and Turkey to talk about "Nabucco", and with the President of Azerbaijan to discuss alternative deliveries of Azerbaijani gas.
